    • Dependability, consistently on time, available when needed, and responsible for carrying out tasks.
    • Maintains a pleasant mood, sense of humor, and positive outlook.
    • Exercises good judgment and common sense.
    • Displays sensitivity, consideration, and warmth toward client/ family members.
    • Demonstrates emotional stability and control.
    • Ability to move into new situations easily with flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness.
    • Demonstrates skills in assisting clients with daily living activities and self-help skills.
    • Displays household management skills, including food preparation.
    • Ability to manage medical routines effectively.
    • Ability to manage difficult behavioral children.

 

We are recruiting couples, single persons, and families who will work as respite providers to

 

    • provide treatment in their homes for emotionally disturbed children
    • participate in on-going professional training and Certification, Group Support Clinical Supervision

    • attend special GPS/ Foster Parent Training, Family Preservation, and Wrap Around Service Training

You can be trained to become a Respite Care Provider if you:

 

    • are single, a couple or a family who can provide a safe and nurturing environment
    • are over 21 and in good health
    • are willing to work as a member of a team which includes psychiatrists, social workers, counselors, and other foster parent/ family teachers
    • pass a physical examination, drug test, and a criminal background check
    • have the ability to work with complex children and families.
